Believers attacked in Arsikare, Karnataka

Karnataka, November 2, 2012: Nagarajapura which is about 25 kms. from Arsikare. Three families have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ from this small village and was baptized and they were in fellowship with Shalom Brethren Assembly, Subramanyanagar, Arsikere. Since last one year they were facing oppositions from anti-Christian elements and they were under threat of ex-communication (ooruvilakku) from the village chief and others.
Last Friday on the 19th of October, 15 people came with stick and mercilessly beaten up Mr Nagaraj and other believers in their house for not participating the local temple pooja. Mr Nagaraj, Shivanna and Mr. Venketesh were injured in the attack and were admitted in Halebid Govt hospital. They were discharges after 3 days. The believers initially filed a complaint with Halebid police station, but the complaint was withdrawn after reaching a compromise with the attackers.
