Demands removal of ‘objectionable scenes’ from the movie.

Christian outfit angered at Malayalam movieKerala, February 05, 2013: Seems like film makers these days are at the receiving end.

After opposition against Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam and Malayalam movie Romans, another regional film is facing opposition from a Christian outfit.

Indian Christian Democratic Party alleged that ace director Mani Ratnam’s Malayalam movie ‘Kadal’ (Sea) had objectionable scenes referring to Christianity.

The party has sought the removal of those scenes from the film and warned of intensifying their protests if police do not initiate action.

They have also submitted a memorandum to police in this regard on Monday.

‘Kadal’ is the latest offering of Ratnam and has actors Arjun and Aravind Samy in leading roles.

Haasan’s ‘Vishwaroopam’ had faced hurdles after Muslim groups opposed it claiming the film offended their sentiments.

Similarly, the makers of Malayalam hit comedy Romans, which is about two petty criminals who dress up as Catholic priests, faced legal hurdles after a Catholic youth leader filed a defamation suit against them.
