Joseph's Hand Chopping CaseKerala, July 15, 2013: The main witness in the hand chopping case received death threat on Friday. Nithin Luka, who had rushed the injured professor T J Joseph to the hospital, received the threat.The attackers had blocked Nithin’s father Luka on the way and then attacked the professor. The Moovatupuzha police booked a case as per the special direction of the National Investigation Agency.

T J Joseph, a Malayalam professor at the Thodupuzha New Man College, was attacked for preparing the question paper with an objectionable reference to the Prophet, at Muvatupuzha when he was coming back from church.The gang, which had come in a vehicle with knives, swords and other weapons, severed his right hand and inflicted stab injuries on his thigh and legs.
