Christmas Greetings from The CSF

At least 400 Orphans will be fed the CHRISTmas meal

CHRISTmas Meal - Mumbai: Unfed 1500 OrphansDo you know that there are a minimum of 2000 orphans and destitute in Mumbai alone?
And that too, only in Catholic institutions.

The number will be much more, if we include Christian NGOs. We decided to do our little bit last year by gifting a meal to 100 orphans, with a party at the Catholic Gymkhana in town. The idea was to go out at least at CHRISTmas time and give something as basic as food to children, who can only dream of toys and special gifts.

It brought us such great JOY that this year we decided to dream bigger and work as match-makers. Our giving experience to those who are in a way not our own and yet, being children of the same God, the Father brought great happiness and we wish you to have this too.

So for CHRISTmas’12 we sent out SMSes asking all to feed an orphan/destitute the CHRISTmas meal in their locality. We are asking you to do so, too, anytime in the CHRISTmas season. In Mumbai, The CSF volunteers will have around 400 orphans given the CHRISTmas meal. It still leaves 1500 whom we plan do during the year ahead. We made it easier, for those who cannot for some reason do it in their area, or wish to do more – You may contribute at the rate of Rs.100 per child/destitute. And help us reach the target of feeding a meal to 2013 orphans at least until CHRISTmas’13.

Many of these orphans/destitute are girls, handicapped and street children. An incomplete list of around 30 institutions where these 2000 odd are housed is given below. For those interested in going the extra mile, do get in touch for contact persons and details, as also the exact number and type of orphans/destitutes. The CSF will facilitate your giving at least in Mumbai and present this as a model for elsewhere. Let’s give as many meals and support institutions, such as these.

In days when people spend much on pets and saving the environment, let us make sure our more important community members are taken care of. We have had many such requests, from Christian NGOs, but regret we cannot support these, as the CHRISTmas meal is at still at a token beginning stage. However, for now, they are certainly in our prayers, even as we work to do our little bit to feed the hungry and care for the poor within our family first.

We will remember you tonight in our quieter moments with the LORD and urge you to pray for The CSF, its collaborators and partners.

In Agape Love,

Your brother

Joseph Dias
