Two Pastors Beaten up in Madhya Pradesh

Two Pastors Beaten up in Madhya PradeshMadhya Pradesh, November 30, 2012: Hindu extremists beat up two pastors, seriously injuring one in Boothpada village, Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. The police barged into the prayer meeting conducted by Pastor Govind Meida from Gospel Church where he invited Pastor Sharad Pargi from India Bible Translation as a guest speaker. The police told the Christians to stop the prayer meeting and leave the area. About 20 extremists shouting anti-Christian slogans soon reached the spot and hurled verbal abuses at the Christians.

Pastor Meida and Pastor Pargi fled from the area. However, the extremists followed the two pastors and soon caught hold of them and beat them up. The two pastors sustained injuries and Pastor Pargi was admitted in a govt hospital after he lost consciousness with severe injuries on his head, face and body. No case has been registered at press time.

Christians Beaten up in Chhattisgarh

Christians Beaten up in ChhattisgarhChhattisgarh, November 30, 2012:  in Machewa village, Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh, Hindu extremists attacked four Christians, accused them of forceful conversion and of arranging inter caste marriage for the three newly converted girls from the Sahu community. The extremists barged into the house of Pastor Budhram Dhruv from Believers Church of India as he and three church members were having tea and started to beat them up.

About 50 extremists later joined and accused the Christians of forceful conversion, of arranging inter-marriage for the three newly convert Christian girls from the Sahu community and tried to burn up Bibles and other gospel literature in the house. Media personnel and police reached the spot and took the Christians to the police station for safety measures. Pastor Dhruv received first aid treatment at the police station. The Christians went home from the police station later that evening. A police complaint has been lodged against the assailants; however, no arrest had been made at press time.
