Goa: SDB Watershed, Biogas & Solar power at Quepem

The Watershed Development project led by the Salesian Fathers of Don Bosco [SDB] at village Padi in Quepem taluka will be open to public, specially students from schools and colleges from (Tuesday) 04 December to (Monday) 10 December, 2012. A village lunch and refreshments will be served to the participants, hence prior confirmation is necessary. There will also be games, interactive sessions and competitions. The participants will also be taken around the three village cluster to see the progress made under the watershed programme [National Watershed Programme for Rainfed Areas or NWDPRA ] implemented by the Salesians of Don Bosco as the Programme Implementing Agency (PIA) coordinated by the State Level Coordination Committee of Goa..

The Salesians of Don Bosco have plans to upgrade the agricultural education at the Farm School, Sulcorna-Quepem, by adding the vocational course in Horticulture/Floriculture and also starting certificate/diploma courses in organic agriculture as is being done in neighbouring Karnataka.
