Graves at Goa cemetery vandalized

Goa, October 13, 2012: Some unidentified people vandalized five graves at the Candolim church cemetery in Calangute, Goa.
Police inspector Nolasco Raposo said that the incident came to light yesterday morning.
The offenders removed five wooden crosses, four of which were found within the cemetery itself on the intervening night of Oct 11-12, while one cross was found placed near the Candolim football ground, Raposo said.

One person of unsound mind was found near the cross at the football ground.
The police official said the man was unable to provide any details regarding his identity or place of residence or origin.
An offence against unknown persons has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Raposo added.
