Islamic scholars on Shariah basis of inter-faith dialogues

L-R: Dr Mustafa Shareef, Hyderabad, Dr Abdel Ilah Benarafa, Morocco and Maulana Azam Nadwi, HyderabadNew Delhi, April 23, 2013: Islamic scholars from different parts of India have gathered in University of Delhi to deliberating methods of inter-faith dialogues in Shariah.

Three-day conference is organized from April 22-24 in University of Delhi campus. Conference is jointly organized by Islamic Fiqh Academy, Dept of Arabic of Delhi University, and Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) headquartered in Morocco.

34 papers in English and Arabic were presented on the second day of the conference. The papers highlighted foundation of inter-faith dialogues in Quran and Hadith, basis of dialogue in A View of AudienceShariah, different ways of inter-faith communications. Scholars agreed that Muslims in India should work towards presenting a model based on Quran and Hadith that will spread justice, equality, human rights, and benefit the society.

Scholars commented that Quran has provided conversations that took place between prophets and their nations. Scholars drew three principles of inter-faith dialogue- monotheism, miracles, and equality. Quran also talks about all humans being equal though spread among different tribes to help in identification.
