Kurnool Diocese plans litigation-free harmonious villagesAndhra Pradesh, November 21, 2011: Kurnool diocese organized a one-day training program for Para Legal volunteers to create litigation-free and harmonious villages in the district in Andhra Pardesh.

Addressing the 72 participants, Justice Adi Narayana exhorted the participants to create litigation-free and harmonious villages in the state through their efforts.
 
Noting that Parliament, courts, Lok Adalat are various levels of legal system, he exhorted the Para Legal Volunteers to apprise people at the grass root level of laws to protect their rights.

“Law is not for collision, but for harmony,” he pointed out.

He cautioned the volunteers not to take sides and create division.

“If you misuse law, it is like threatening a person with a knife.” That is what happens when the innocent are implicated, he added.

However, the legal luminary also said encourage people to go in for compromise, apprise them of the expenses involved, the long delays for judgment and the possible punishment, if they go to court, he said.

Make use of every chance to spread legal awareness. Try to settle disputes without going to the court, Justice Narayana added.
