Massive United Rally against escalating Church attacks in Mangalore & KMN 8th anniversary

Karnataka, January 22, 2012: You are already aware of the increasing Church Attacks in these Districts of late. In a recently called emergency Meeting, by the like minded Secular/Religious Human Rights Organizations’ leaders, from the entire minority community of Mangalore and Udupi Districts (about 25 Organizations) including the various Church leaders from Karnataka United Churches Forum for Human Rights (W.Zone) (KUCFHR-W Zone – a Forum of the entire Roman Catholic/Orthodox & Other Evangelical Protestant Churches comprising of the leaders from Karnataka Missions Network, Mangalore-Coastal Zone) have decided to organise a Massive Rally and Meeting on 27th January, 2012 jointly under a commonly agreed Platform – “FEDERATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS’ ORGANIZATIONS’. The Rally will start from Ambedkar Circle (Jyothi Circle), Mangalore @ 3.00 p.m. and proceed in a procession to the Public Meeting to be held @ 4 pm in front of Dy.Commissioner’s Office (D.K.), Mangalore.
Your presence/participation along with the members of your Church/Organisation would be most valued We are also looking forward the visit of Dr.H.T.Sangliana, Vice-Chairman, National Minority Commissioner during this period, who might conduct an Official Enquiry regarding the recent Church Attacks apart from other common problems faced by the entire Minority Community.
A Press Meet is also organised on 25th January, 2012 at Sahodaya, Balmatta, Mangalore by which time we will have confirmed information. We also request you to officially intimate your Parishioners through Pulpit Announcements about this Rally for special Prayers and also Participation of leaders/church members at the Rally, as similar announcements are being made in all the mosques for participation by Muslim community. Necessary Police permissions have already been obtained & other work with regard to the Rally is in progress with active involvement of different leaders of the Adhoc Committee Members of the Federation and the support of the respective Bishops/other Community Leaders.
We seek your prayers and full co-operation for the utmost success of this Unique Joint Rally organised by the entire MINORITY COMMUNITY. Various leaders have taken responsibility of distributing the pamphlets in their respective Churches/Mosques/and Denominations. As such, on behalf of KMN, we request you Pastors/Leaders to collect the pamphlets. Your encouragement will go a long way in our joint efforts for God’s Glory by protesting against the atrocities against us by the Religious Fundamentalists violating HUMAN RIGHTS & CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS IN KARNATAKA STATE with earnest prayers in the matter.
