Pak: Main accused admits 3 Christian women were beaten & paraded naked

Pakistan, July 14, 2013: Over a month after a Muslim landlord allegedly humiliated three Christian women and paraded them naked in front of the public in Pattoki, the High Court has finally taken notice of the matter and directed District and Sessions judge of Kasur Court to investigate the incident and submit a report within two weeks.

The Judge has called the both parties in the court and recorded the statements of the both parties, during the enquiry the Judge passed strictures and criticised the police who did not perform their duty honestly. The main accused Muhammad Munir gave an affidavit in the court and admitted that the three Christian women were beaten, their clothes torn and paraded naked in streets.

Today Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill, national director of LEAD, an activist NGO along with Ms. Ruhama Shaw, president, women wing of PCC in Lahore met the victim’s family and assured them of their support. Ms. Ruhama financially supported the victim family. LEAD is giving free legal assistance to the family and following-up the case
