Persecution of minorities in pakistanSrinagar, November 12, 2013: Pro-Pakistan Kashmiri separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani today said Pakistan should stop human rights violations against minorities and attacks on religious places in that country as stability of that country is necessary to find a solution to the Kashmir issue.

Addressing a seminar at his residence at Hyderpora here, Geelani, who met Pakistan Prime Minister Nazwaz Shairf’s aide Sartaj Aziz in Delhi, said that he advocated stability in Pakistan as it was imperative for the struggle of the people of Kashmir and also urged Islamabad to ensure protection of minorities living in the country.

“There should be stability in Pakistan. Whatever is happening in Balochistan, Karachi and Khyber Pakhtoon Khwah should be controlled as the stability of Pakistan is imperative for our struggle.

“The attacks on the religious places and human rights violations should be checked and the lives, properties and honour of non-muslim brothers living there should be protected,” Geelani said.

He also defended use of arms but said that his faction will continue to use peaceful means to raise the issue of Kashmir.
