Pastor Beaten. No Police Action

Chhattisgarh, 5 July 2011: Sunil Masih, a pastor working in the Corba district was beaten up by a group of people accusing him of forced conversions. Arun Pannalal, the President of Chhattisgarh Christian Forum, reported that Sunil Masih was having prayer service in his residence around 50 km from Corba District Head Quarter. The incident took place on June 2, around 12:30 pm when a group of people came pastor’s house and beat him up. He alleged that Ajay Jaishwal (Chairman of Municipality), Sanjay Sing (BJP District Vice President) and Roshan Sing (municipal corporator) were also part of the group that attacked the pastor. Pannalal said that Sunil is said to have filed a case with police but police has not taken any action on his report.
