A place for everyone in the heart of God.

Salesian Priest Addresses Hindu Sadhu SammelanKolkata, April 10, 2013: Fr. Shaji Joseph SDB,Salesian Priest of Kolkata province and former President of Sacred Heart Theological College, Shillong, spoke about Jesus and His message to the Hindu Sadhu Sammelan organized by Ramakrishna Mission, Kolkata, at the conclusion of the 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda.“True love that is born of God can never be put to death by any earthly power,“ said Fr. Shaji Joseph as he greeted the Hindu Sadhus, Sanyasis and devotees in the name of the Lord Jesus, risen from the dead.

Fr. Shaji summed up the message and teaching of Jesus as an unconditional and undying love of God for humanity expressed tangibly in the life of Jesus who serenely accepted death with words of forgiveness on his lips for his enemies. Jesus not only taught the way of love, but he also walked that way of love, truth and life, so that everyone who believes in him may have life in abundance, he added.

There is a place for everyone in the heart of God and there must be a place for everyone in our hearts too. This is the essence of Jesus` message to humanity in a world that is divided along religious, cultural and economic lines.

The Sadhu Sammelan, held at Ramakrishna Mission Boys` Home, Rahara, was presided over by the most revered Srimat Swami Shivamayanandaji Maharaj of Belur Math, Kolkata. Other speakers were Giani Swaran Singh Ji on Sikhism, Dr. D. Rewatha Thero on Buddhism and Kinkar Samanda Maharaj on Hinduism.
