Vatican top official visits Golden Temple and meets Sikh leadersPunjab, November 16, 2011: Cardinal Jean-Louis Pierre Tauran, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue and Apostolic Nuncio to India, His Excellency Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio were given a grand welcome by the Catholic Yuva Dhara of Punjab. They visited the Golden temple and it’s head priest Granthi Gyani Gurbachan Singh. The Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sardar Sukhbir singh Badal, accompanied by a Member Parliament, welcomed them to the Holy city of Amritsar. The next day, 2 speakers from each religion spoke on the concept of God and Culture. The visit concluded with a High Mass offered by the Cardinal at St. Francis Church, Amritsar.
 
Vatican top official visits Golden Temple and meets Sikh leadersThe Vice Chancellor Guru Nanak Dev University, Giani Joginder Singh, and  J Jairoop Singh Brar welcomed Cardinal Taura, the Papal Ambassador to India, Archbishop Quintana, Bishop Anil Couto, Navjyot Singh Sidhu, MP and others. At the Golden Temple, the delegation was received by Giani Gurbachan Singh, the head granthi of the Akal Takth.
